What is the TRIP Change Builder?

The TRIP Change Builder is a series of interactive tools that provides a tailored roadmap to guide you through your implementation project.

How do I use the TRIP Change Builder?

Work through the TRIP steps using these interactive tools. Each interactive tool can be printed or saved to PDF to build your implementation plan. The questions can guide discussion with your colleagues or TRIP mentor.

Click the link on the tool to navigate to the related Learning Hub page, where you can find more information, videos, and resources to support your learning.

Identify a Problem

Clearly define the clinical problem or evidence-practice gap to be addressed. A well-defined problem ensures the project targets a meaningful and achievable change.

Open Identify a Problem tool

Evidence to Support Change

Locate, appraise, and apply the best available evidence to support a change. Strong, relevant evidence informs how change should be planned and implemented.

Open Evidence to Support Change tool

Planning for Change

Understand the local context, including barriers, enablers, and available resources. Implementation strategies must fit the setting to be effective. By aligning evidence with context, you ensure effective implementation strategies that fit the setting.

Open Planning for Change tool

Implementing Change

Turn planning in to action by applying evidence-based strategies, engaging stakeholders, and responding to challenges. This is where measurable change occurs in practice.

Open Implementing Change tool

Evaluating Change

Assess whether change was implemented as intended, and what impact it achieved. Evaluation demonstrates whether the change improved care, efficiency, and/or outcomes. Findings from this stage inform decisions about sustaining or refining the change.

Open Evaluating Change tool

Sustainability, Scale, & Spread

Maintain improvements over time and extend their impact. Plan to embed improvements and spread impact to benefit patients, teams, and services.
